WWW: It’s great that your blog is set up and you’ve posted some excellent work already. Your fruit bowl is outstanding (you’ve captured the earth palette perfectly) and your connotation and analysis for the WaterAid advert is very good. This clearly demonstrates your potential both in technical and creative skills and media analysis. The challenge now is to make sure we are fully completing all work before publishing.

EBI: Currently, your 10 questions work is unfinished (missing the last couple of answers) and you also haven’t completed the second half of denotation and connotation (your own choice of advert).

Therefore, the first priority is to make sure the following is completed and posted to your blog:

Once you have this work completed, the lesson to take from this is making sure that you read the tasks carefully on the blog to make sure you don’t miss anything. Other than that, keep an eye on your written English and try and take on the extension tasks to push you towards those top grades!

9) Why was the casting of Jodie Whittaker a significant moment in the history of Doctor Who?

It is a significant moment in history of Doctor Who as there is now a new doctor.
10) What aspects of this scene do you think an audience might enjoy? List at least three things and explain why the audience would enjoy each aspect.

The audience might enjoy the part where the doctor changes because there is a new doctor that might do things different.

The audience might enjoy the part where the door opens as it creates suspense and makes them wonder where she might land.

The audience might enjoy the part where the explosion happens because it makes them think what happened to the doctor and the machine. 

Denotation and connotation

Denotation - There a jug of water with a smiley face with a label on it. There is also juice in the middle of the screen and a percentage of something. There is also fruits with faces on them. There are also strawberry. 

Connotation -  The smiley face on the jug of water conveys how the new flavour of fruit shoot makes you feel amazing and cheerful. The information '100% naturally sourced ingredients' illustrates that it is healthy for you. Furthermore, the fruits smiling shows how they are happy to have this new flavour of fruit shoot. Many light colours were also used which represent happiness. 

Analysis - The text 'Meets requirements for school compliant drinks throughout the UK' shows that the targeted audience for this advert are kids and maybe teenagers as it meets requirements for school. Furthermore, the facial expression of the water jug illustrates how much flavour and happiness there is in the drink. The background of trees and the sky might also represent how peaceful and relaxing it is.

Reflection - In my opinion I think my strongest piece of work was the denotation and connotation. My weakest piece was the 10 questions. During the rest of the course I want to learn more about photoshop and editing.
