Conglomerate ownership is when bigger companies own smaller companies. This links to Black Widow  because Disney own Marvel.

Social media - It was effective because it was cheap and most of the audience is on social media making it a word of mouth.
Star power - It was effective because most people would watch the movie to see Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh. 
Posters - It was effective because people most people will see them on their way to work or school and may become interested.

5) What was the production budget for Black Widow and how much did it make at the box office?
$200 million production budget and it made $379 million at the box office.
 
6) Would you consider Black Widow a successful Hollywood blockbuster? Why?
I would consider Black Widow has a successful Hollywood blockbuster because it was the most successful movie since the COVID pandemic and was a record breaking. However, It made less money at the box office than most of the Marvel films.

British board of film classification (BBFC)

8) What age rating was Black Widow given? Why?
12A. It is rated 12A because there is moderate violence and injury detail but it was not too graphic.

1) Read this Guardian report on Scarlett Johansson suing Disney over the release strategy for Black Widow. Do you agree she is right to be angry with the multiplatform release strategy?

I think Scarlett Johansson is wrong to be angry with the multiplatform release strategy because Disney owns the movie and they can do what they want to do with it. It also came out during COVID which was when most cinemas were closed and made Black widow lose money. 


IMAX is an important part of marketing a blockbuster because there is a bigger screen, better quality and better sound. 

3) Look at the Marvel Black Widow website. What promotional devices do Marvel put on the website to promote the film?

Audience interaction is an important aspect of modern film making because it allows other people to create their opinions on the movie and makes them more or less likely to watch it. It is also important because It tells the producers what they did good and bad.

5) Look at this Guardian website page allowing Marvel fans to discuss Black Widow. What interesting opinions do you notice in the comments? 

The interesting opinions in the comments is that they are all positive and recommend you to watch it. It also has things that the producers could improve on.

Finally, you might want to read this feature on whether there are too many Marvel sequels and spin-offs. Do you agree that there are too many Marvel films?

No. I think that there isn't too many Marvel films because it has a story-line that contains many characters and Marvel need to make a movie for almost all of the characters. They are also entertaining and allow you to escape reality.
