Mise-en-scene - Costume

The costume that Emma Weymouth is wearing draws interest in the magazine as it is a bit revealing. It also has a colour scheme of blue, white and pink which have the connotations of love. She is also wearing jewellery.

The model

The model in the cover is Emma Weymouth which draws attention as she is dark skinned and mainly light skinned models are on the front cover of Tatler.

Representations

1) What celebrities or famous people are mentioned on the cover? Why do you think Tatler put them on the cover?

Emma Weymouth, Daisy Ridley, Diane Kruger.
Tatler might've put them on the front cover to grab attention and tell their audience that there is more celebrity gossip.

That they can dress up like royalty as they have lots of money and care about class

3) Looking at the image and cover lines together, what different groups of people are represented on the cover and how are they represented? (E.g. men/women/rich people/race & ethnicity etc.)

I think rich people are represented on the cover as royalty and precious as one of the cover lines say 'Off duty royal dressing'. Also Emma Weymouth is wearing jewellery. Another group that are represented in the cover are women as Emma Weymouth is the central image. This suggests that women can be independent and strong

4) Are there any stereotypes being reinforced or subverted? How? Why?

A stereotype of gender is being reinforced here as Emma Weymouth is wearing make-up which may suggests that women have to look perfect at all times. However a stereotype that is subverted is that women can be independent and wealthy without the help of men. Another stereotype subverted here is that Emma Weymouth is dark skinned whilst most models are light skinned.
