Regulation is ensuring that a media product follows all the rules and no inappropriate content is being shown. The BBC is regulated by OFCOM (the Office of Communications). The OFCOM have a code of conduct that has to be followed and if it is not followed then the media channel could have their license to make content taken away from them.
5) How do Doctor Who and His Dark Materials help the BBC to meet the BBC's remit to inform, educate and entertain?
Doctor who
Educate - It educates us as we learn more about space and science. This helps the BBC as educate is apart of their mission statement.
Inform - People might learn facts and figures about space and science as Doctor Who is a Sci-fi genre,
Entertain - It entertains as there are many people in the world who are interested in space and science.
His Dark Materials
Entertain - It entertains people as many people like the fantasy genre and has a interesting storyline.
This helps the BBC to meet their mission statement.
